Full carbon trekking poles with long grip range and compact foldable packability

The Vipole Carbontrek Long foldable trekking poles are built for outdoor users who want lightweight support without giving up reach or grip versatility. Made from 100% HM Carbon with a thin 12/14/16 mm shaft, they come in at 208 g per pole and adjust from 67-135 cm for a broad working range. The long RoundHead EVA grip and compact foldable build make them well suited to tramping, travel, and mixed terrain where conditions keep changing.

Key Features

  • 100% HM Carbon shaft: Keeps overall weight low while giving you a responsive pole feel for longer days on the track.
  • 12/14/16 mm thin shaft: The tapered shaft profile reduces bulk and helps the poles feel lighter through repeated use.
  • 67-135 cm adjustment range: Gives you a wide usable range for climbing, descending, traversing, and pack adjustments across different terrain.
  • Twistlock system: Lets you adjust pole length to suit the terrain and your preferred setup.
  • Long RoundHead EVA grip: The extended grip section makes it easier to change hand position quickly on steep or uneven ground without stopping to readjust length.
  • Automatic Plume strap: Adds support and security through longer walks and more sustained descents.
  • Carbide tip with trekking rubber round tip: Gives you reliable contact on firm ground, with a rubber option for harder surfaces and walking-focused use.

Real-World Use Case

These are the kind of poles that suit New Zealand tracks where the gradient never seems to settle down for long. On a steep climb, sidle, or loose descent above bushline, the long grip gives you more hand position options, while the lightweight carbon build helps keep fatigue down over a full day on the move.

Vipole — Engineering Detail

Technologies

The design and engineering features that make Vipole poles perform on the trail.

Material

Alu 7075

Aluminium is the best material for pole construction: strong, adaptable to the specific mechanical processes required for the various components, and environmentally friendly as it is fully recyclable.

Vipole uses exclusively 7075-F56 aerospace-grade alloy. All aluminium components undergo an anodising process, making them resistant to oxidation and corrosion.

Design

Thin Shaft 12/14/16mm

The thin shaft technology reduces the diameters of individual pole sections to 12, 14, and 16mm respectively. The result is a lighter, well-balanced pole with reduced swing effect and improved wind resistance.

Adjustment

Quicklock

The Quicklock system allows you to adjust pole length quickly and easily. Pull the lever, set the desired length, and close the lever again.

Particularly suited for ski mountaineering or winter use — the lever allows length adjustment even while wearing gloves.

Foldable

Pop Up

Pop-Up technology combines the advantages of an extremely compact pole (only 34cm when closed) with the practicality of an adjustable-length pole via the QuickLock system. Just two steps to extend: insert the two lower sections and pull them into the locking position. Length is then adjusted using QuickLock.

Grip

Roundhead

The Roundhead grip allows the poles to be held from the top, enabling a relaxed pace on flat surfaces and slow walks, while also providing a secure hold on very steep slopes.

Automatic Plume Strap

The Plume strap is the benchmark for comfort. Made entirely of high-tenacity polyester and completely seamless — exceptionally soft, breathable, durable, and lightweight. It also saves 9 grams per pair compared to a standard strap.
